Tetraethyl orthosilic*ate 40 is the ethyl polysilicate with a minimum SiO2 content of 40%. It is also named Tetraethoxysilan*e hydrolysate or Ethyl silicat*e 40 and known as abbreviated TEOS 40 or Si-40.  is mainly used as in important intermediate for a wide range of applications. It is the equivalent of Dynasylan® SILBOND® 40.

Application

TEOS is an important material for sol-gel processing. It can be used as a crosslinking agent, a binder or a drying agent in adhesives and coatings, especially suitable for anti-corrosion coatings, zinc-rich coatings, chemicals-resistance coatings and heat-resistance coatings.
TEOS can be used to deposit silicic acid and improve the bonding to various inorganic substrates such as metals, glass, fibers, inorganic fillers and pigments. It can improve mechanical properties as well as chemicals and thermal stability of the composites.
TEOS can be used for the synthesis of cold curing silicone rubbers.
TEOS can be used to replace (Tetraethyl orthosilicate, or TEOS) with higher SiO2 content to reduce costs.
