Zinca-6001 R-OH Reactive Modified Silicone Oil
Product introduction:
Alcohol (carbon) hydroxyl reactive modified silicone oil (polyurethane PU resin modifier), can react with isocyanate to prepare silicon modified polyurethane products; meanwhile, can also combine with other reactive functional groups for modification, equals to Shinetsu 6001/Dow Corning BY26-201 series products.
Due to the presence of active groups as polyether ended or hydroxyl ended organic silicone modifier, able to directly participate in slurry synthesis reactions or be added as a functional additive to endow polyurethane synthetic leather with moisture permeability, ventilation, and better low-temperature flexibility, anti-stickiness, higher wear resistance , excellent surface smoothness, bubble stability, or excellent processability. Also very good compatibility with polar solvents, non-polar solvents, polyols, and isocyanates.

Product use
1.Polyurethane PU resin modification
Used for modification of polyurethane resin and polyurethane, wet processing leather coatings and composite functions
fabric PU film, with excellent reactivity, transparency, good softness effect, and ventilation, with additional smooth feel. Double ended alcohol modified silicone oil can be used together with water or solvent type polyurethane resin, like regular polyol, react also with isocyanates.When applied to polyurethane artificial leather, resin for coatings, and thermoplastic elastomers, the surface lubrication can be improved, the surface touch and gloss, oxygen permeability, heat and cold resistance also be improved.
1.Modification usage
a. Coating additive-enhance flexibility and wear resistance
b. Leather coating-soft, ventilation and waterproof
c. Waterproof cloth/tent/outdoor jacket-soft cloth, good ventilation, high waterproof level
d. RO anti-permeability film
(2) Method
a. Co-polymerize with NCO ended polyurethane prepolymer;
b. Co-polymerize with MDI and polyol;
c. Mix with polyisocyanate and polyol, then cure.
2. Medical biological field
R-OH silicone oil features characteristics, such as non-toxic, hydrophilic, and physiologically inert, meeting the requirements for medical biomaterials. Currently, when it comes to the treatment of eye diseases, such as, myopia or others, contact lenses, corrective lenses, intraocular implants are usually adopted for this purpose, the block polymer with R-OH silicone oil as the base material can be used to prepare these materials; and R-OH silicone oil when applied to make contact lens, the hydrophilic polymer is with higher oxygen permeability.
3.Personal care area
R-OH silicone oil with good compatibility, permeability, moisture without oily feel, is widely used in personal care field, e.g. compared with low viscosity methyl silicone oil, the R-OH is without defoaming property, therefore in shaving cream, the effect is better, and when applied to hair conditioner, the hair is soft and shiny.
4.In organic polymer modification field
Due to its carbon hydroxyl bond, the R-OH polysiloxane can polymerize with multiple functional groups, and generate polymers with different performance for different applications, that is, to introduce soft polysiloxane into hard organic polymer modification method, and the polymer is widely used in industries, such as, electric appliances, insulation material, flame retardant material.
5.In coating industry
In coating industry, Functional silicone coating often adopts organic silicone resin or modified silicone resin featuring heat resistance, radiation resistance, insulation, UV curing, etc. Also in these functional coatings, organic silicone additives for defoaming, leveling improvement effect are also added into. The R-OH polysiloxane with active functional groups is also applied to these coatings for specific purpose. E.g., the PET coating with minor dosage of R-OH polysiloxane, when applied to the electric wire, after cured, the insulating coating with smooth, low friction co-efficient and weather resistance can be achieved.
6.Other industries
Adding R-OH silicone oil into polyvinyl chloride improves the lubrication, produces bottles with lighter colors and better thermal stability.
